Three M&E wins for Newcastle as UK North team motors ahead in North East
19/11/21 : UK North Director, Kevin Mullen hails traction in North East for the company’s expanded offer with three significant Mechanical and Electrical wins
It takes time to build a reputation and time to change one. For the last seventy years in the North East, first as Veale Nixon and then as TClarke, we’ve enjoyed an excellent reputation as electrical engineers. Now, our strategy across the region is to expand into the space which our national reputation and the strength of our financial covenants allows – and to grow our reputation as a Tier One player in mechanical, electrical and technologies – the full range of engineering services.
Over the last five years we have built a group platform and structure to support this expansion operationally. In the last eighteen months, and now particularly as we emerge from the worsts of the pandemic – we are seeing the key wins happening. We are starting to fulfil our potential.
In Newcastle I would draw attention to three projects that substantiate that claim. The first is Project Sky with Overbury which involves engineering services for new Sky TV facilities in the North East. Overbury is a major partner for us across the UK and it is great to be working with them on this kind of complex project for a leading client.
Dame Allen School – which we have now successfully completed the Isolations and Demolition of Existing School Phase with Tolent Construction – was the Newcastle team’s first full M&E project and that has now been followed rapidly by the Alnwick Hotel Project.
As we say to clients, we are TClarke’s UK North operation – and we have considerable resources across the region, backed by even greater resources nationally. I’m delighted Paul Hoy and his Newcastle team are growing organically, delivering excellent quality, forging key new strategic partnerships and building this expanded reputation.
We never like to get ahead of ourselves – so as ever it is all about excellent delivery and a true partnership approach to each project. But here in Newcastle, just as in other offices and regions across the country, there’s a fresh energy and a strong new proposition from TClarke. These projects show what we are capable of and we can look ahead with considerable confidence.
