TClarke’s Callan Baker wins major national apprentice award
12/2/21: TClarke’s Callan Baker has been awarded the JTL National Electrical Apprentice of the Year – one of the most prestigious apprenticeship awards in UK industry. Callan himself comments on the award.
“I am extremely pleased to have been awarded the JTL National Electrical Apprentice of the Year. A huge factor in this success has been the strong TClarke teams I have worked alongside since the very start of my apprenticeship. TClarke’s industry leading techniques have enabled me to gain various skills and knowledge, both allowing me to think strategically and professionally, whilst approaching different situations and challenges.
Since the completion of my apprenticeship, I have progressed to my current position of Contracts Engineer at one of our projects, 8 Bishopsgate. As we get more apprentices coming onto the project, I will be setting up a training plan to provide an insight into how our sites are run and managed. This was initially introduced to me on my very first TClarke project over 5 years ago.
I have been able to further my training by undertaking a HNC at London South Bank University, whilst also being enrolled onto the TClarke Future Leaders programme. I would just like to thank JTL for this award and support during my apprenticeship. I would additionally like to thank TClarke who have been committed to my ongoing training and future developments since the very start of my Apprenticeship.”
Group Chief Executive Mark Lawrence commented:
“Callan is an outstanding apprentice and deserves our congratulations. At TClarke today, we have over 200 apprentices, all being trained to the highest standards in the industry, all with the same opportunity as Callan to go forward and build an excellent career. We did not waver in 2020 in our commitment to building skills in the industry because we know it is the right thing to do. Equally, the quality of our skills base and talent pool nationwide is the heart of our difference in the industry. We are delighted that another TClarke apprentice has achieved national recognition, we believe it is further evidence of the depth of talent we have here.”
