TClarke secures one of the UK’s first major new hospital projects
17/5/22: In collaboration with principal contractor Integrated Health Projects (IHP), an alliance between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, TClarke has been selected for one of the first of 40 new hospitals to be built by 2030 – the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) in Nottinghamshire.
Rob Faro, Director, TClarke UK South commented:
“Make no mistake, this is a strategic win for our Healthcare business and a cutting-edge project in every way. The NRC will be net zero carbon and a unique facility bringing clinical rehabilitation, research, development, commercial innovation, training and education under one roof. The potential is to deliver game changing impact for patients after serious injury or illness.”
“We have worked hand in glove with principal contractor IHP; we have also brought together the full range of specialist healthcare expertise which TClarke has in-house.”
“To win through, we have had to demonstrate that we are cutting edge in terms of engineering expertise and world class in terms of our delivery capabilities. We have shown leadership in technology and smart buildings as well as in modern methods of construction. Equally and critically, we have needed to demonstrate the social value that we as a business will deliver within this project. To win major healthcare projects like this you have to show that you are a business that delivers substantial social value to local communities.”
Anton Malia, Director TClarke UK South congratulated those involved in the winning bid.
‘This project not only continues to demonstrate the expertise that TClarke offer in the healthcare and intelligent buildings sectors but marks a return to delivering major projects in and around the East/West Midlands area. The project will be overseen by Steve Ceiley and the TClarke Derby team along with our intelligent buildings and healthcare teams demonstrating real collaboration across our business, we are very much looking forward to working with both IHP and the NUH team on this fantastic project.’.
“Major complex projects in healthcare today require deep and effective partnership and we are delighted to be working alongside IHP and our NHS clients. For our engineers, the chance to be involved in such a valuable landmark project is a great source of pride.”
