TClarke makes two big city moves, opening in Liverpool and Manchester
27/11/18 : Group Managing Director, Mike Crowder explains the strategy behind the company’s decision to enter the Liverpool and Manchester markets.
The commercial argument for opening in these two cities is compelling in each case. These are planned strategic moves and significant investments from TClarke; we intend to develop a substantial presence in Liverpool and in Manchester, as both cities have projects of the scale and nature to match our business offer and strategic goals.
The full TClarke integrated offer and in-house teams
From each office, we will provide the full TClarke integrated services offering of mechanical, electrical and ICT services. We will deliver them with our own in-house teams. That TClarke integrated offer has great resonance in these two market places and we’ve been in advanced discussions with many of our nationwide principal contractor partners in the run up to making these decisions.
£40 million of tenders and a place on £400m framework at launch
Those contacts are reflected in the £40 million of tenders which we have already placed in Liverpool and Manchester across a range of projects. Further to that, we are also able to announce that we have secured a place, on the four year, £400 million, Liverpool-based Procure North West Framework.
The financial strength and reputation of TClarke, allied to the quality of work and integrated service offer means we can give partners the confidence they need when they are looking to build their projects.
Manchester : Media CityUK Phase 2 and a vibrant construction sector
Manchester is booming and recent development has made it Europe’s second largest digital and creative hub. Salford Quays, where we’re locating our office, contains Media City UK whose development has driven much of this. Now with the £1 billion, 211,000m², second phase of MediaCityUK due to be built, we see major opportunities for TClarke.
Liverpool : Vast development schemes and plans to more than double available office space
Liverpool currently has 2m sq ft of available office space and the plans are to build a further 3m sq ft. There are vast schemes planned, including the £5.5bn Liverpool Waters project which will occupy derelict dock spaces at Central Docks and also Wirral Waters which will transform 500 acres of the Birkenhead docklands into an internationally recognisable destination. All these plans have seen many of our traditional principal contractor partners making their moves in the city, so once again this is the right time and the right place for TClarke.
