TClarke delivers 9 Module MRI Scanner facility for Shetland Islands.
Following a 13 hour ferry in harsh sea conditions, TClarke’s Healthcare team successfully installed another major scanning facility – this time for NHS Scotland at Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick on the Shetland Islands. Scottish Minister for Health, Neil Gray toured the facility to view for himself the quality of this modular installation.
Divisional director (Healthcare) Nigel Thompson commented:
“The nine new scanner modules have been designed and fabricated offsite to exceptionally high standards to comply with the relevant Scottish building regulations to suit the extreme climate of the Shetlands.Despite everything the weather has thrown at TClarke and the logistical challenges of getting these precision-engineered modules safely across the North Sea in winter and onto site, we are on time and on programme.
“We expect the new facility to be fully operational and ready for patients in the Shetlands to use starting in the first week of June this year. ”
Group Chief Executive Mark Lawrence commented :
“TClarke is a leader in Healthcare technology. It is a matter of great pride for us to see our expert teams achieving their objectives, professionally and as required, whatever the challenges. This project shows exactly what TClarke delivers for this country. Congratulations must go to all of the TClarke specialist engineers and teams involved.”
