Luxury Alnwick hotel breakthrough win for Newcastle

19/11/21: TClarke North wins the full engineering services package (mechanical and electrical) for a new luxury hotel on the Bailiffgate site next to Alnwick castle – a major step forward for the business in the North East as Operations Director, Newcastle, Paul Hoy explains.

Across the North, TClarke is moving forward now, achieving key strategic wins and building our name as a significant regional player – not just in electrical contracting but in mechanical and technologies too. 

Traditionally in the North East we have had a very strong name in electrical contracting. Our business strategy here, and across our UK North operation has been to take full advantage of our national reputation as a Tier One Engineering Services business, grow our capabilities organically and win more of the high value, high quality mechanical, electrical and technologies projects in the region. 

So the M&E package for the 47 bedroom Bailiffgate hotel project is exactly the kind of higher value, higher quality project we have been targeting in order to announce ourselves in the market place. The new hotel will come complete with restaurant, bar, fitness centre and meeting rooms and sits close to historic Alnwick castle.

The North East is no different to any other area in the country. The marketplace has real appetite for TClarke – we bring a quality of resource, engineering excellence and financial strength which make us a very attractive for clients and principal contractors with larger projects to deliver. This win is great news for us as we look to play our part fully in the drive to £500m revenue.
