Requirements
- Completed Apprenticeship
- 2391 Inspection and Testing
- 18th Edition BS761 Wiring Regulations
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and practices
- Proficiency in reading drawings and electrical schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and regulations
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project planning and scheduling: Creating detailed work plans, estimating materials and labour needed, and coordinating project timelines.
- Site safety oversight: Ensuring all electricians follow safety protocols, issuing permits when required, and conducting regular safety inspections.
- Team management: Assigning tasks to electricians based on their skills, providing on-site supervision, and addressing any performance issues.
- Quality control: Inspecting electrical installations to ensure they meet project specifications and electrical requirements.
- Technical expertise: Reading and interpreting drawings, electrical schematics, and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving electrical issues that arise during installation or operation.
- Compliance management: Staying updated on relevant electrical codes and regulations, ensuring all work adheres to legal standards.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintaining detailed project records, including work logs, inspection reports, and completion certificates.
- Material management: Ordering necessary electrical materials and components for projects.
- Use of IT and Digital Environment for construction
- Liaising with other trades and project managers to coordinate work activities
- Manage electrical testing and commissioning procedures
- Managing subcontractor relationships and ensuring their work meets quality standards
