Design and Build growth fuels move to new offices
6/7/20: TClarke’s Design and Build operation has hit all its growth and margin targets, delivering a larger and more diverse range of projects as it grows. Now, as part of this ongoing sustained growth, the team is moving into new offices. Managing Director Paul Barnes explains.
What we have always looked to deliver is sustainable growth, based on quality, innovation and strong relationships. We have a growing team of excellent professionals and with the power of the TClarke brand and business behind us, we have been able to deliver exactly what we promised when we set our first business plan – a £25 million pound operation within 5 years, with a strong pipeline of work and the margins our board requires.
Our culture was always going to be relationship-driven and we can count Willmott Dixon, Kier, Morgan Sindall and Vinci to name a few, as partners with whom we have established a strong and reliable relationship since the business formed.
The reason people bring us on board is very straightforward – we consistently and reliably add value through engineering, innovation, streamlining of design and product selection – so they can feel confidence in getting us involved and providing a first class service.
We have a strong team, we’ve always developed our pipeline of graduate talent to strengthen our team and now we have a design department of 15, a preconstruction team of 5 and an operations and project management team of 20, coupled with a robust supply chain to meet our promises.
Right now, we have a strong pipeline of upcoming opportunities and booked projects throughout this year, 2021 and into 2022. Our current projects in progress range from Shoreditch Academy to the Pears Research Building at the Royal Free Hospital and the new 360 bed Hilton Hotel (pictured) at Aldgate.
Group CEO Mark Lawrence commented :
“Our Design and Build team has outgrown the previous premises and success is fuelling expansion. Certainly our confidence in the design and build market going forward is equally solid; we see ongoing demand for the quality of product our team can provide. The growth is sustainable and the projects are steadily getting bigger. The Hilton Hotel is a £17m contract. The Board is delighted with the progress achieved and we look forward to more, on the same trajectory.
“If you understand our business, you will see that our M&E leadership is complimented and enriched by a series of highly successful specialisms, developing on this same strong and sustainable trajectory. These range from Climate Controls and Manufacturing to Intelligent Buildings, Healthcare and Mission Critical. This depth of capability across the organisation is what keeps us relevant and allows us to be agile.”
