Controls and manufacturing teams serve NHS in London, Birmingham, Manchester and beyond
3/4/20 : TClarke Divisional Director (Healthcare), Nigel Thompson explains how TClarke’s in-house specialist controls and manufacturing teams are working flat out, with the support of our supply chain, to help the NHS in its nationwide response to Coronavirus.
TClarke has the necessary specialist expertise in-house
Within TClarke we have specialist controls manufacture and equipment teams who interface with the major global suppliers of imaging equipment and design and install imaging suites across the healthcare sector. These teams are working hard now, with partners in the NHS and our supply chain, to do whatever is needed.
We are currently negotiating with two major Imaging equipment suppliers in relation to provide self-contained CT scanner solutions for three temporary hospitals across the UK. This is work in progress.
Teams working flat out to meet the demand
We are currently manufacturing a large quantity of control panels for Emergency CT scanners, being installed into existing spaces across the UK for GE healthcare, Siemens and Philips, specifically related to the Covid-19 outbreak. Our manufacturing teams at Stansted are working hard to turn all panels around as quickly as possible, with up to five additional orders landing each day (as the pictures show).
We have had great support from our national supply chain, keeping us stocked with components to build and distribute the panels across the country.
Our teams are continuing to install our Siemens imaging room cardiology UPS/Panel systems throughout all regions in the UK, supporting the NHS working within a live environment during these unprecedented times. Our onsite engineers are committed to supporting the front line NHS staff.
Recognition of the commitment of our people
We are also due to complete an additional imaging room and ward at the Birmingham Heartlands hospital this week. This work has been carried out with the typical TClarke approach and that has been noticed by architect Adam Alrubaie who emailed to say:
“I just received pictures of Lab 1; it looks great thank you, and I would like to forward my gratitude and appreciations to TClarke’s entire team for all the hard and efforts to make this happen on time. Special thank you to Danny Dowling for his commitment and attention to details.”
