76 Upper Ground sets the benchmark for low-carbon
Working with our partners Multiplex, TClarke has successfully transformed the Grade II listed, former home of IBM on the Southbank into a low-carbon, sustainable office space offering Electrical, ELVS & Smart Building installations.
This highly sensitive redevelopment retains 80% of the existing structure and introduces central London’s largest Photo-Voltaic installation. It also features 50,000 sq. ft of outdoor terracing and biophilic landscaping. 76 Upper Ground targets BREEAM Outstanding for Office and Excellent for Retail Space and also WELL v2 Enabled Rating Approach with a Minimum Gold Rating NABERS 5 Star Rating.
TClarke’s world-class Manufacturing Facility at Stansted was critical to programme delivery. Our modularisation strategy offered a programme saving of 12 weeks to the critical path – plus a net zero carbon saving.
Contracts Manager Tim Randall commented on the imminent close-out of another iconic project for TClarke:
“As you walk along either bank of the River Thames, you’ll notice that many iconic buildings—such as the Shard, Tate Modern, and Battersea Power Station—are TClarke projects. This includes the original electrification of the Tower of London! It is truly a pleasure to work on these projects and to know that you are helping shape London’s skyline for future generations to enjoy.”
